Calling Kenya!

June23

Last week we set up a skype call with a family in Kenya! We spoke to Mercy, who is 15 years old, and goes away to school. She was at home on a half term break. The children prepared questions for her on a variety of topics. It was fantastic to connect with someone so far away in this way!

A special thank you to Rachel, Charlie’s Mum, who arranged it all! FANTASTIC!!!

THE BIG FIVE

May14

As part of our topic on Kenya we have been learning about African animals. We have written non-chronological reports about the big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The were named the big 5 as they are the most difficult land mammals to hunt on foot.

Thank you!

March28

A huge thank you to Oliver’s Dad, who came to talk to the class about Australia today. Oliver’s Dad works for an Australian Company, so he came to talk to us about the country, the climate there and the effects of climate change. It was very engaging and informative, and linked brilliantly with our Geography topic!

Thank you!
